Witty, heart-wrenching, inspirational!!! What an outstanding movie “The King’s Speech” was! The acting was superb! This film should be seen by EVERYONE!
Lord o’mercy, I cannot stop with the exclamation points! I’m so excited by this movie, I give it one hundred stars! I beg you, for your own good, do not let this film slip through your area without you having experienced it.
Perfect, perfect, perfect – in every way! The times, the royalty, the personalities, and the English are presented to the audience in academy award winning perfection. The casting #1; the scenes #1; the costumes #1; the acting #1. Congratulations, to director Tom Hooper, screenwriter David Seidler, and the actors! And, thank you so very, very much…
Can I be anymore effusive? Absolutely – but I won’t…I will only urge you, once again, to see “The King’s Speech.” (It is not playing in New Braunfels or San Marcos or Seguin, so we went to San Antonio.)
In case you did not know, this movie takes place in the late 1930s Britain and tells the story of the Duke of York(Colin Firth) overcoming his stammering with the help of a remarkable speech therapist(Geoffrey Rush) and with the loving/unwavering support of his wife(Helen Bonham Carter) and becoming King George VI, after his brother abdicates, and just as England declares war with Germany.
Hey, Hollywood, this is what a real movie looks like!!! Can it happen again, please, and maybe become the norm? How about a “Master and Commander” sequel, at least?
