Have You Ever…

When you think about it, we are who we are because of DNA, nuturing, environment, and experiences. Every human being on this planet begins the same (birth) and ends the same (death). However, everything that occurs, or doesn’t occur, between those events determines our personalities, thoughts, and actions. What kind of person are you?

In no specific order, have you ever:

There are hundreds more questions, of course. but hopefully those you have just glanced through might give you pause or cause you to contemplate what is going on in your life. How long has it been since you have thought about what kind of person you are? Though no mortal is perfect, some try harder than others to be the best they can be. They triumph over their circumstances by sheer willpower and/or determination. Others fall short of the exemplary life, having had the spirit pounded out of them. Some people can get back up only so many times after being beat down, discouraged, or ravaged. Still others go through life with blinders on, mindful only of themselves and their immediate surroundings. All through life we make decisions that are right/wrong, good/bad, mighty/insignificant. The results of our decisions affect us and the people around us in many ways, whether we care to acknowledge that or not.

The purpose of life is to give and help not to acquire and harm. Those who focus on one goal or ideation doom themselves and others to a very unfulfilling life.

(I did not mean for this post to be solemn. It started out as whimsical – “Have you ever swung on a star? Carried moonbeams home in a jar?…” Yet, I cannot help but be provocative sometimes; it’s just the cynical part of my nature piping up.)

Stop and analyze? Wouldn’t that be wonderful if we actually STOPPED and THOUGHT; questioned ourselves like you mentioned. We are all in a huge rush. Shame on us. I felt the seriousness of your questions and appreciate them. I appreciate YOU for taking time to THINK for some of us!
