Ding Dong

Upon hearing that Bin Laden was dead, The Wizard of Oz song “Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead!” came into my head. Somebody needs to reword that song to apply to today’s jubilation. Although I am not a violent person, there are horrible people this world would be better off without. Now there is one less.

Unfortunately, there will be repercussions from the fanatical terrorists and more innocents will die. But this symbolic victory cannot be taken away from us. Being human, we often ignore vengeance is mine sayeth the Lord and seek retribution. However, perhaps this incident is God’s vengeance, albeit not a miracle, accomplished by His will.

On the other hand, unnatural deaths and violence would never occur if human minds could not be warped and manipulated to kill, maim, abuse, and torture. That we are capable of such acts is shameful, appalling, and depressing, but certain portions of the world population are more than eager to murder and destroy the lives of others.

Of them I must ask: Don’t we have enough natural disasters, diseases, and accidents to deal with without causing harm to others?
