Friday the 13th – Not

*Yes, this is not Friday the 13th. Last Friday was and I missed a superstitious posting. There will not be another such Friday this year. Bummer, man!

*Today, “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” comes out. Hooray! Can’t wait to see it. The first one has been the best so far, as is true of most sequels. Depp looks so dirty, I wonder how he keeps from scratching his head all the time. And, how come he nevers gains weight?

*Drizzle is good. Ripley, our 3-year-old granddaughter, was just delighted yesterday when we walked out in it. Not enough to get us wet, just sky-spit. Not enough to close the deeper cracks in the ground, but the day-long gray kept the temperature down. Today is sprinkler day for our side of the street, although it looks like more drizzle out there. Think I’ll go turn them on anyway…I used up the buckets of water caught in last week’s 1/2″ of rain on the potted plants a couple days ago.

*Why are people surprised and shocked at the sex habits of rich and powerful men? Do they think that because they are “successful,” they have more control over their baser instincts? Millennia from now, if earth is still habitable, adultery, molestation, and rape will still exist. Men are men, no matter their economic status or education…My wonderful husband hates when I generalize, but divorce statistics, women’s shelters, emergency rooms, prisons, and morgues beg this particular generalization. While there may be millions of kind, loyal, loving men in the world, there are far too many who are pieces of poo-poo.

*Inside, my spirit/persona remains the same, while outside, mirrors reflect someone I do not recognize. Feeling the same but not looking the same – that is exactly what my mother said of herself twenty years ago. Egad!!
