“Super 8”

Set in the 1960s in a small Ohio town, “Super 8” is a pretty good family movie. (Really not for under age 8, though.) A group of middle-school kids get together to make an 8-mm movie for a contest. The movie opens with a tragedy, which segues into a horrific…Well, I don’t want to give it away. It reminded me of those Saturday monster matinees of long ago; however, the plot/story was more substantial. The acting was certainly better, too.
