Teriyaki Turkey Burgers

Keep the kitchen cool and liven up your outdoor grilling with some teriyaki turkey burgers…

Recipe: Turkey Teriyaki Burgers

1 lb. ground turkey
1 c. teriyaki sauce
1 small onion, finely diced
bread crumbs
avocado, sliced

Directions: Put the ground turkey meat into a medium bowl. Pour the teriyaki sauce over the turkey, mix, cover, and let sit in fridge for 15-20 minutes. Drain off any excess sauce that has not been absorbed and add the onion and bread crumbs. Mix thoroughly and make patties for grilling. Grill and serve on your favorite bun. Add avocado slices to your usual burger toppings. Potato salad, pea salad, fruit salad, or cole slaw to your plate. Yum.

Thought of the Week: As I watched our grandchildren interact this week, I could not help but think upon my own cousins. We did not get together as often or have as much fun together. Also, being the oldest cousin by several years kept me from interacting too much when we did see each other. This new generation of cousins that I am blessed with beholding is a delight to observe. Their personalities mark them as distinct individuals, but their joy at being with each other clearly shows their acceptance and love… Unfortunately, one is missing; two-year-old Necalli lives in California and has yet to meet his seven Texas cousins.
