Pinwheels

You won’t have to heat up the kitchen to make this tasty appetizer.

Recipe of the Week: Pinwheels

1 pkg. burrito-size flour tortillas
several cream cheese spreads of your choice
several slices of thin-sliced ham and turkey

Directions: Spread any cream cheese on a tortilla, roll it up, slice into 1/2″ pinwheels, place on serving tray. On another tortilla, spread more cream cheese and add a slice of ham or turkey. Roll it up, slice into 1/2″ pinwheels, place on serving tray. Continue with another tortilla until you have enough servings. No one will eat just one pinwheel.

This appetizer takes 20-30 minutes to make. Cover with plastic wrap until guests arrive. Or make it in the morning, cover, and refrigerate. Take out of the fridge and serve at room temperature so the tortillas will soften.

Thought of the Week: A summer cold is the pits! As soon as you feel a little off or your nose tingles, pop some L-Lysine and zinc. Take every four hours for the first three days, along with decongestant and pain reliever. Hot green tea with honey soothes the throat. Drink plenty of fluids to flush out the germs. To avoid the risk of an earache, do not lie flat. And, don’t forget the chicken soup!
