Another Glorious Day

IT’S SPRING!!! I’m bouncing around the house, full of energy. We’ve already gone on our daily walk. There is soooo much color here, my heart is welling with joy!

AND, we discovered we have two mountain laurel trees in our yard, one in front and one in back. We moved here in Sept. 2010 and last year there was drought, so I just thought we had a couple live oak trees. Their leaves are similar. But the other day my daughter pointed out that she loved the smell of mountain laurel (grapey) when she comes to our house. I didn’t know what she was talking about, until I went out front and saw the lavender blooms on the “live oak” tree branches. 🙂 Then yesterday afternoon, I noticed the other tree blooming out back. Remarkable!

Yesterday, while Danny was meeting with clients, I took my oldest son, his two daughters, and our oldest grandson to the park.

And yet, part of me feels very guilty for loving the spring we are having, when tornadoes are killing people and destroying homes and livelihoods across the midwest. The disparity is almost beyond comprehension. I truly beg their forgiveness for being so blessed and pray for their eventual comfort and recovery.
