“Mirror Mirror”

Wellll, yes, I confess, we went to see “Mirror Mirror.” Too bad it wasn’t through the rear-view mirror…The grandkids liked its funny parts, but, for us, the phony snow, phony this, and phony that proved too phony to bear. The storyline had been altered from the original tale, which was okay, and the dwarfs expanding legs were kind of cool, but the only saving grace, for us, was Nathan Lane, who played the evil queen’s lackey/assistant/whipping post, Brighton, most delightfully. While Julia Roberts played the evil part well enough, I couldn’t help thinking the whole way through that the casting director could have chosen a much fairer queen and owner of the mirror.
