June Blooms in New Braunfels

New Braunfels is blooming with bougainvilla, lantana, pride of Barbados, oleander, and spectacular crepe myrtle. I’ve been driving around trying to take pictures of everything, but the darn traffic keeps getting in my way, either by not allowing me to stop or gathering behind me when I do stop. Very annoying, and perhaps a wee bit dangerous – dadgummit! Not to mention how suspicious I might appear to home owners and their neighbors. But, I’m not a snoop, just a bloom voyeur. 🙂

Besides having various colors – magenta, red, lavendar, pink, and white – crepe myrtles can grow into very tall trees…

In our front yard the lantana has finally broken out into some spectacular deep red/yellow/orange blooms, as well as some cute little white-red thingies.

In the backyard, I found a stunning passion vine that I don’t remember planting and haven’t seen before: passiflora Lady Margaret.

I have to enjoy all these gems while they last, which cannot be too much longer if it doesn’t rain and our water restrictions become tighter.
