“Skyfall” starts with amazing action right off the bat. Love that! However, this Bond movie isn’t so much about international intrigue as it is about Bond’s history, M’s past, and the changing times at headquarters. Q (Ben Whishaw) is young and new, but does not present Bond with a bunch of remarkable gadgets…

Bond (Daniel Craig) is chasing a guy who has stolen a computer drive, which lists all British agents, from beneath the noses of M (Judi Dench) and her superior, Gareth Mallory (Ralph Fiennes). With Bond is field agent Eve (Naomi Harris), who winds up shooting him off the top of a train on M’s authority, causing him to fall to his supposed death. However, the thief and his prize get away. Though no one knows what mastermind or what country is behind this plot, M must figure it out without her main man. Luckily, he returns before M is forced to retire and the antagonist proves to be none other than an ex-MI6 agent, turned crazy man, Raoul Silva (Javier Bardem)…

Although “Skyfall” is not as plotful as  “Casino Royale,” Daniel Craig is the best Bond since Sean Connery. Blessings on Ian Fleming for creating this extraordinary spy! Although he only wrote 14 books before he died, his characters live on.

Rating: 4 out of 5 stars.

Not the best Bond movie ever, but one of the best action movies of the year and just a total thrill-ride from beginning to end, with a couple of great character moments shoved in there as well. Nice review Cyranette.
