Changing April Fools’ Day

Since the U.S. income tax was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court in 1895, it is only fitting that we make April 15th the new April Fools’ Day. We’ve been fools to pay since then. Of course, the 16th Amendment of 1913 puts the kibosh on that idea by making the taking of our money part of the Constitution.

OR, our tax returns could be declared due on April 1st and nobody would file. That’s a prank we could all get behind! 🙂

In my family, the prankster is little brother Jay. Having five older sisters, his birth was the ultimate prank on Mother, who had picked out the name “Valerie” for her sixth girl. He’s made us laugh from the get go and continues to tell funny stories and jokes and wear totally unexpected Halloween costumes. April 1st is one of his favorite days of the year, although he teases us at every opportunity
